The jules flat-front city trousers shown here is cut in a stretch velvet with chevron-patterned. This velvet repeats a fantasy proposed by Patric Hollington about fifteen years ago, and which he called "work canvas with spirit". Its stretch cotton base, improved for this 2020 version, has very fine light gray diagonal stripes against a black background. Sober and chic, it is perfect for the mid-season.
Our city trousers with a flat front and high waist are tailored by a Portuguese specialist of dress uniforms and suits. He has been excelling at it for over forty years.
The ankle opening is 22-cm wide, which is very comfortable. The trousers also allow space for calf, tight and hip movements and hug the stomach: one does not feel them while walking. The legs are not hemmed so you can have them fit to your exact size.
The trousers are closed by a button tab and a hook keeping the front part in place. They hold two back pockets, deep and flapped, and two side pockets with a large diagonal opening. Not much fancy here, but a comfortable cut and a traditional manufacturing that makes alterations easier. That’s it for the practical chapter.
As for style, it is a modern interpretation of traditional city trousers. Their waist is reasonably high and fits every morphology, and the flap pockets give contrast to the back side.Heavy fabrics like large-rib corduroy are a perfect match.
