the fabric

For this winter's season, hollington has selected for you the beautiful pieces of Fisherman Out of Ireland, founded by the family business Blarney Woollen Mills in 1991.From the first stitch to the final press, each piece of their collection is made at their knitting factory in Kilcar, a small village in the textile tradition nestled between the Derryveagh mountains and the Atlantic Ocean. It is this awe-inspiring environment, along with the local fishing communities, which constantly feeds their inspiration when creating new yarns, colours, and styles.

This fisherman's rib sweater with a crew neck and raglan armholes combines a fitted waist with a fairly short body. A rustic, sporty and contemporary look, but made from merino wool and cashmere! Warm and soft, its two-tone deep colour declines ash grey on a marine background. Wool is one of the rare materials of animal origin whose production is beneficial for animals since the sheep's fur does not fall naturally. All the ethical issues of this merino relate to the way the animals are treated and raised. Here, free-range breeding without mulesing is guaranteed.
