the fabric

The sleeveless jacket shown here is cut in a raw silk tweed. This fabric takes its name from the River Tweed in Scotland. Originally woven from corded woollen threads, tweed shows a multitude of small flaws (‘slubs’) that are its hallmark. To achieve this revisited version, our Tuscan weaver used Indian silk threads. The peculiarity of this raw silk is precisely the irregularity of its material. The imperfections of the black and silver threads give its atypical, very chic personality to the surface of the fabric.

the cut

You appreciate the smart elegancy of hollington’s mao-collar jackets? Then you will love our Yunus sleeveless jacket.

Are you not very familiar with the name of Muhammad Yunus? He is a Bangladeshi social entrepreneur, banker, economist, and civil society leader who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for founding the Grameen Bank and pioneering the concepts of microcredit and microfinance. If you check pictures of him, you will notice that he wears sleeveless jackets just like hollington’s.

The cut of this jacket is straight so you can combine it with various styles of outfits. Some of you enjoy wearing it over a shirt; others pull it over a jumper to work at the studio or at the office.

The jacket holds five outside pipes pocket, including a large one on the backside to fit a newspaper or a notebook. The inside is just the same as for regular hollington jackets: four large zipped pockets and an unlined back.
