This is a Naipaul jacket cut in a double-faced navy linen crepe with Pink British stripes. You already know the Naipaul jacket. This cut has recently returned to French production, and is once again made in Picardy. Its loose, straight cut offers unrivalled comfort, while its Nehru collar gives it a refined touch. This jacket is perfect for warm summer days. Inside, two zipped pockets keep your belongings safe, while three patch pockets on the front add a practical and stylish touch. Ideal for hot days, this jacket is truly lightweight. Made from a double-faced linen crepe in an elegant dark blue, it floats gently around the body, feeling cool and free. But what makes this jacket truly unique is its pink double-striped interior, a subtle homage to British chic. This refined fabric, carefully developed in Italy for hollington, adds a touch of sophistication to this piece. Whether for a formal evening or a casual day, this jacket combines timeless elegance with modern comfort. With this Naipaul jacket, every day becomes an opportunity to shine in a style that's both elegant and casual, celebrating the art of French living in a 100% European jacket.
Have you ever tried the Naipaul jacket on? When Patric Hollington designed it twenty years ago, his intention was to give a perfect fit to an unstructured, lightly built garment.
It is the only unlined jacket in hollington’s wardrobe. The inside has no interfacing in order to allow the greatest suppleness and comfort. When the jacket is cut in a thin cloth, it looks like an overshirt; when it is cut in a thicker fabric, it is closer to a casual chic jacket.
Its cut is wide, with large armholes. One can wear it over a shirt for a smart look or over a simple tee-shirt in more relaxed times. It will never feel too tight as it includes a back pleat that allows a great freedom of movement in any situation.
Its collar, now called ‘mao collar’ to make it standard, is actually an ‘officer’ collar. Is it high and lined with a narrow piece of canvas all around the neck.
Six patch pockets are maintained by topstitched seams : three outside and three inside, including two zipped pockets.
Hollington favours double, symmetrical seams to underline the architectural structure of the garment.
